Renewable Energy Credits - RECs
A Renewable Energy Credit, or REC, is a certificate that is issued for each Megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy generated from certain clean or renewable resources or for each MWh of energy conserved through the installation of energy efficiency measures.
Connecticut RECs can be sold or traded to fulfill Connecticut's Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS).
The Independent System Operator of New England (ISO-NE) oversees the Generation Information System (GIS) which creates and tracks all RECs.
Please click here to view the Technical Reference Manual (aka TRM). Here you will find a comprehensive list of the cost and savings associated with the installation of individual energy efficient measures.
